Job title: Data Manager
Team: Central Team
Reporting to: Chief Operations and Finance Officer (COFO)
Contract: 52 weeks per annum
Grade: 9
Hours/week: 18
Location: Based at one of the schools in the Trust, with occasional travel to other school sites (hybrid working option available)
Main purpose of the role
Acer Trust is seeking an experienced and analytically minded Data Manager to champion the effective use of data across our family of nine schools. This is a specialist role at the center of Trust operations, providing the intelligence that drives school improvement, strategic planning and data-informed decision-making at every level.
Working closely with the Chief Operations and Finance Officer and the Trust’s educational and school leaders, you will act as the Trust’s expert on its Management Information System and wider data tools, ensuring that reliable, meaningful data is available to leaders at all levels across the Trust.
The role combines technical ownership of the Trust’s core data systems with a strong focus on analysis, insight, and practice. You will build and maintain Trust-wide reporting, support schools with statutory data returns and quality assurance, and produce timely analysis for senior leaders, trustees and strategic groups. You will also train and support colleagues across the Trust to get the most from data systems, acting as the operational point of contact for data queries and helping leaders interpret and act on the intelligence you provide.
We are looking for a data professional with strong analytical skills and a proven track record of managing complex data environments and translating data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders. You will be proficient in tools such as Power BI and Excel, confident working with large datasets, and meticulous in your approach to data quality and information governance
A background in education would be advantageous but is not required. We welcome candidates from data, analytics, business intelligence or information management roles in any sector, provided they can demonstrate the skills and rigour this post demands.
The role is part-time (18 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum) and based at one of our schools, with occasional travel across Trust sites and the option for hybrid working. This arrangement makes it well suited to an experienced professional looking to bring real expertise to a value-driven organisation with meaningful social impact.
Acer Trust is a multi-academy trust committed to high standards, collaborative working and continuous improvement across our nine schools in Oxfordshire. If you are a confident, capable data professional who wants to make a genuine contribution to the life chances of young people, we would very much like to hear from you.
For an informal conversation about the role, please contact hr@acertrust.org.uk to arrange a discussion. To apply, please submit your application via MyNewTerm. The closing date for this role is midday on Friday 10 July 2026 and interviews will be held on Thursday 16 July.
The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated legislation places responsibilities for health and safety on the Trust, as your employer and on you as an employee. In addition to the employer’s overall duties, the post holder has personal responsibility for their own health and safety and that of other employees; additional and more specific responsibilities are identified in the Trust’s Health and Safety policy.
