About this Role

We are proud to be a very welcoming, inclusive primary school at the heart of our community in the rural village of Embsay on the outskirts of Skipton.

We are a school where:

  • Children are happy in a welcoming environment
  • Staff are valued, supported and committed to improving the lives of all children
  • Our curriculum is ambitious, engaging and relevant to our children.

We are particularly proud of our:

  •  strong relationships and pastoral care offer
  •  enrichment offer through our creative curriculum
  •  Children who develop into confident, resilient and independent learners

As a Church of England school, there are also well-established links with St Mary’s Church, which plays a central role in nurturing the school’s Christian ethos, rooted in the belief of “Life in all its fullness” (John 10:10). We encourage every member of our community to shine with hope, both now and for the future.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection noted that “Pupils enjoy coming to school, are happy and proud to represent their school,” and praised how the early years curriculum carefully considers what the youngest children need to know and when (March 2025). SIAMS inspection findings (November 2024) also recognised relationships as a significant strength of the school, highlighting a tangible culture of care where wellbeing and mental health are clearly prioritised

  • Be committed to the wider life of the school
  • Be dedicated to working as part of our school team, and as part of the wider Trust, promoting both our school’s and the Trust visions and values

  • Builds positive relationships with children, staff and families
