About this Role

About this Role

Rooted in the Northfield community and guided by the vision of 'Learning, Loving and Sharing, guided by Jesus', St Laurence Church Junior School is a thriving Church of England primary school where every child is known, valued, and inspired to flourish.

Our school values — Thankfulness, Forgiveness, Perseverance, Generosity, Curiosity and Friendship — are not just words on a wall. They shape our culture, inform how we work and learn together, and are lived out every day by our children and staff. We are proud of our strong Christian ethos, our broad and stimulating curriculum, and the genuine sense of belonging that runs through everything we do.

We are a school that puts people at the heart of operations — children, families, and staff alike. As part of Fioretti Trust, we benefit from the support of a growing family of eight Church of England primary schools across Birmingham, united by a shared mission: 'Enable every child & every adult to flourish. Everyday.'

As School Business Administrator, you will be the senior business professional on site, supporting the Headteacher and senior leadership team — you will ensure that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes so that our leaders and teachers can focus on what matters most: the children.

You will lead and manage the school's day-to-day business, administrative, financial and HR functions, working in close partnership with the Headteacher, the senior leadership team, and the Fioretti Trust central team. Your remit will span:

  •      Finance management and financial reporting
  •      HR administration, recruitment coordination and compliance
  •      Administrative operations and office management
  •      Wraparound care management
  •      Statutory compliance and record-keeping

Why work at St Laurence:

Working at St Laurence means being part of something that matters. Here's what we can offer you:

  •      A school where our motto — 'Learning, Loving and Sharing, guided by Jesus' — is genuinely lived every day
  •      A warm, supportive and collaborative staff team who care deeply about each other as well as the children
  •      Wonderful, enthusiastic children who make coming to work a genuine pleasure
  •      A school that passionately invests in the professional growth and development of its staff
  •      A rich and truly broad curriculum that gives children — and the adults around them — fantastic opportunities
  •      A nurturing environment where positive relationships and high aspirations go hand in hand
  •      Access to the wider benefits and professional network of Fioretti Trust, including an excellent wellbeing package and the support of a collaborative multi-academy trust central team

St. Laurence Church Junior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are an Equal Opportunities employer and we welcome applications from under-represented groups. Applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage & civil partnerships.

Please note that as part of the process we will carry out an online search for shortlisted candidates using information provided in your application form as part of our safer recruitment practices. This may help identify any incidents or issues that have happened, and are publicly available online, which we may wish to explore with you at interview.
