About this Role

Post for a Breakfast and After school club Assistant

Permanent, Part-Time, Term Time Only.

Working 7.30am – 8.45am and 3.15pm – 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

NJC Grade 2, point 3 (£12.85 per hour, pay award pending)

We are seeking a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Wraparound Care Assistant to join our team and support the delivery of our new Breakfast Club and After‑School Club provision at The Nest here at Kneesall C of E Primary. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and would like to gain experience in a school environment.

A relevant childcare or playwork qualification, or previous experience in a similar setting, would be beneficial but is not essential. We welcome applications from individuals who are committed, organised and keen to contribute to a positive, nurturing environment for pupils.

 Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Child supervision — ensuring the safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour of pupils during wraparound sessions.
  • Activity delivery — supporting the planning and delivery of engaging, age‑appropriate activities, including crafts, games and outdoor play.
  • Food preparation support — assisting with the preparation and serving of simple breakfasts/snacks and promoting healthy choices.
  • Setting up and tidying away — preparing the environment before sessions and ensuring areas are left clean and organised afterwards.
  • Safeguarding responsibilities — following school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for all children.
  • Positive relationships — building warm, supportive relationships with pupils and communicating effectively with parents and staff.
  • Record keeping — assisting with attendance registers, incident forms and other routine administrative tasks.

Why Join Kneesall C of E Primary School?

  • A warm, close‑knit rural school community
  • Children who are enthusiastic, polite and eager to learn
  • A supportive staff team that values collaboration
  • Opportunities for professional development
  • A strong Christian ethos underpinning everything we do
  • A chance to make a meaningful difference every day

Visits to school are welcomed and can be arranged by telephoning the school office on 01623 861069. Application packs are available on our website at
