About this Role

Location: Loddon Junior School, part of Lodden Primary Federation
Salary: MPS - UPS  (£32,916 - £51,048) Plus TLR 2A (£3,527)
Contract: Full-time 100%, Permanent
Start Date: September 2026

Loddon Junior School, part of the Active Learning Trust since November 2025, is at an exciting point in its journey of school improvement. We are committed to delivering inclusive excellence, ensuring every pupil achieves their full potential regardless of their starting point. As part of our federation, staff benefit from strong school-to-school collaboration, high-quality professional development, and a culture of shared practice and support.

We are seeking an energetic, dynamic, and highly skilled teacher to join our leadership team as a Phase Lead. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and ambitious classroom practitioner, particularly with strong Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and/or 6) expertise, who is ready to take the next step in their career and play a key role in shaping the future of our school. The successful candidate will bring a secure understanding of the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum and a proven track record of raising attainment, including preparing pupils for statutory assessments. They will be confident in using assessment to inform high-quality teaching, providing both targeted support and challenge to ensure all pupils make excellent progress, while fostering independence and resilience as pupils prepare for the transition to secondary school.

This role includes a TLR2a allowance, reflecting the significant leadership responsibility attached to the position. As Phase Lead, you will play a key role in driving standards across Upper Key Stage 2, leading teaching and learning, supporting colleagues, and contributing strategically to whole-school improvement.

 As Phase Lead, you will:

  • Lead teaching and learning, ensuring consistently high-quality classroom practice.
  • Develop and refine a curriculum that is enriching, ambitious, and inspiring, cultivating a lifelong love of learning.
  • Lead pupil progress across the phase, analysing data, identifying priorities, and implementing strategies to enable all pupils to achieve their potential.
  • Manage and support staff, providing coaching, professional challenge, and mentoring to develop exemplary teaching.
  • Demonstrate evidence-informed practice, showing how research or educational developments have informed teaching and improved outcomes.

 What We Are Looking For:

  • A highly motivated, aspirational, and enthusiastic leader with proven excellence in teaching.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to inspire colleagues and pupils alike.
  • Experience of leading phase-wide or whole-school initiatives is desirable but not essential; we value potential and are committed to developing leaders.
  • Passion for inclusive education and commitment to securing the very best outcomes for all pupils.

 What We Offer:

  • Opportunities for professional growth and leadership development within the Active Learning Trust.
  • A supportive, collaborative, and forward-thinking school environment.
  • Engagement in a school improvement journey with a strong sense of community and shared vision.
