About this Role

We are seeking to appoint a Breakfast Club Playworker to support the day-to-day organisation and delivery of our breakfast club provision. The role provides high standards of care and play opportunities for children aged 4–11 in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.

The successful candidate will help maintain a safe and inclusive setting where children can take part in play and learning activities that support their social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development. They will assist with the planning, preparation and delivery of breakfast club activities, work directly with children to encourage positive participation, and support appropriate behaviour in line with school policy.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning, preparation and delivery of breakfast club activities.
  • Work directly with children to encourage positive participation and engagement.
  • Support appropriate behaviour in line with school policy.
  • Supervise children during breakfast club provision.
  • Support children’s safety and wellbeing.
  • Observe children’s participation and engagement in activities.
  • Share relevant information with the Club Supervisor.
  • Help to set up and clear away breakfast club resources and activities.
  • Ensure play materials and equipment are used appropriately, maintained and stored correctly.
  • Report any issues with resources or equipment to the Club Supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the effective running of the breakfast club provision.
  • Maintain high standards of care

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children aged 4–11, an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, and a first aid certificate. They will be reliable, responsible, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team. They will have good communication skills, the ability to support children’s individual needs, and a commitment to safeguarding, equality, wellbeing and inclusion.
