School Governor at St Laurence Church Infant School

We are seeking a School Governor to join St Laurence Church Infant School Local Governing Body. They play a vital role in the life of the school - providing strategic oversight, supporting and challenging school leaders, and helping to ensure that every child receives the very best education. As a governor, you will be part of a welcoming and committed board, backed by the expertise and support of the wider Fioretti Trust. A multi-academy trust built on the principles of aspiration, wisdom and compassion. Inspired by the parable of The Good Samaritan, our school community is guided by the principle of 'doing all things with love' and our seven Christian values of kindness, generosity, patience, forgiveness, helpfulness, thankfulness and honesty. These values are at the heart of everything we do and teach our children what love in action looks like day to day.

We are looking for people who share our values and want to make a difference. You don't need to have a background in education - we welcome a range of skills, perspectives and experiences. What matters is that you care about children, are willing to ask questions and give your time, and believe in doing all things with love.

Governing body meetings take place five times a year, one set up meeting in September and one each term, with an additional meeting in July, and typically last around two hours. Governors are also encouraged to visit the school from time to time - whether for a focused governor visit, a school event or simply to get to know the community.
