Spring Meadow Primary School is an inclusive primary school at the heart of our community, where every child is valued and encouraged to thrive. As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, we are investing in an additional class teacher to support our pupils’ success.  We are looking for a passionate, resilient and inclusive qualified teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will have the ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and create an engaging learning environment that supports both academic progress and emotional development.

Key ResponsibilitiesP

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and adapted learning in line with the national curriculum
  • Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress, using data to inform teaching
  • Create a positive, safe and stimulating classroom environment
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and EAL
  • Promote high expectations of behaviour and learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents/carers
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and events
  • Maintain accurate records and fulfil statutory duties
  • Promote a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment that supports learning
  • Use positive behaviour strategies and restorative approaches to support pupils’ development
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress and adapt teaching accordingly
  • Support pupils to develop resilience, confidence and independence in learning

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Demonstrates proven experience in teaching
  • Is patient, resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
  • Has strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
  • Understands SEMH needs and trauma-informed approaches
  • Has the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents and external professionals
  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Is committed to inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners
  • Is trained in behaviour management strategies and an understanding of relational practice
  • Has the ability to lead a team of Learning Support Assistants
  • Is able to adapt teaching effectively to meet a wide range of needs within the classroom
  • Demonstrates a commitment to ensuring every child achieves their full potential
  • Uses assessment effectively to plan next steps and personalise learning
  • Creates a positive, nurturing and well-managed learning environment
  • Is reflective, proactive and committed to their own professional development
  • Contributes positively to the wider life and ethos of the school
