Senior Arts Therapist

Further information: Working pattern includes 1 day 8:30-4:15pm and 1 day 8:30-4:30pm. Days of work flexible according to candidate choice but ideally would include Wednesday.

The Eden Academy Trust is a family of schools that specialise in meeting the educational needs of children and young adults with a range of learning disabilities including those who are autistic and those who have physical or sensory needs.
We are currently recruiting for a senior arts therapist to work for 2 days per week at Grand Union Village School. Grand Union Village School is a new, purpose built primary school for pupils with a range of learning disabilities including those who are autistic and those who have physical and sensory needs. The school has state of the art facilities, including a dedicated arts therapy room.
The post will allow the successful candidate to develop clinical and leadership skills within a school setting, whilst being fully supported by the Clinical Lead and Service Manager.
The successful candidate will join a well established and supportive arts therapy team working across our schools, which is part of an evolving central services team comprising SaLT, OT, Physio and Family Services. Arts Therapies are highly valued and well integrated in our schools, with social and emotional support seen as integral to pupils accessing their education.
Working as an Arts Therapist with the Eden Academy Trust offers:
· Funded external clinical supervision
· Excellent training opportunities and support
· Exemplary multidisciplinary team working, with opportunities for collaborative work and joint sessions with other professionals
· Arts therapy team supervision 3 times per year
· Opportunities to develop clinical experience with pupils with a wide range of needs
· Excellent internal training and CPD opportunities
· Funding for external CPD
· Being a fully integrated member of school staff with opportunities to embed SEMH support through staff training and collaborative working
· Working as part of a supportive arts therapy team (which includes music therapists and dramatherapists), including opportunities to deliver joint sessions

Successful candidates will be:
· A qualified music therapist or dramatherapist, registered with HCPC
· Experienced in working with children and young people with learning disabilities, and/or in an education setting;
· Experienced in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team or with different professionals;
· Able to support other less experienced therapists and other members of the school team
· Able to demonstrate their potential and willingness to develop leadership skills
· Able to demonstrate strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload effectively
