We are looking to recruit a dedicated, enthusiastic
and caring Casual Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team.
Required to start September 2026
Casual contract – hours worked on an as-required
basis, Monday to Friday, term time only.
About the Role
As a Casual
Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom support as required to cover
staff absence and meet the needs of the school. Working under the direction of
the class teacher, you will help pupils access learning, encourage their
confidence and independence, and contribute to a positive and inclusive
learning environment.
We are
looking for someone who:
- Has a
genuine enthusiasm for supporting children's learning and development.
- Is
flexible, reliable and able to adapt to different classes and year groups.
- Works
well as part of a team and uses their own initiative.
- Can
support pupils individually, in small groups and within whole-class
activities.
- Promotes
positive behaviour and encourages pupils' confidence and independence.
- Has
excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Has
experience of working with primary-aged children (desirable but not
essential).
Key Responsibilities
- Support
teaching and learning under the direction of the class teacher.
- Assist
individual pupils and small groups with learning activities.
- Prepare
and organise classroom resources.
- Promote
positive behaviour and support pupils' social and emotional development.
- Help
maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
- Supervise
pupils during learning activities and at other times as required.
- Provide
feedback to the class teacher on pupils' progress and wellbeing.
- Support
the wider life of the school as required.
