About this Role

 

The Lighthouse Multi Academy Trust wish to appoint a full time Class Teacher for September 2026. We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated and conscientious teacher to join Lindens Academy. ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply.

 

Lindens Academy is a mainstream setting with an Additional Resource Provision for supporting pupils with complex medical needs and physical disabilities. It is a welcoming and inclusive academy, serving children aged 3 to 11 in Streetly, part of the Walsall community. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of working with children with special educational needs to join our friendly, caring, dedicated team of staff and multi-disciplinary colleagues.

 

We are looking for someone that will:

  • Be an excellent class teacher who will demonstrate and promote creative and innovative teaching and assessment strategies to meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Have an excellent understanding of how children learn, motivate and inspire children.
  • Be committed to inclusion and equality of opportunity.
  • Forge positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Be well organised.
  • Provide a creative and vibrant learning environment that supports children’s learning.
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team with teaching and support staff.

 

Main Responsibilities (see attached job description for further details):

·       To plan, develop and deliver high quality lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within their class within the context of the academy’s plans, curriculum and schemes of work

·       Promote the safety and well-being of pupils

·       Establish a safe and stimulating working environment for pupils, rooted in mutual respect

·       Take responsibility for promoting good and courteous behaviour both in classrooms and around the academy in accordance with the academy’s behaviour policy

·       Maintain good order and discipline among pupils through managing classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to pupils’ needs

·       Have high expectations of behaviour and establish a framework for discipline with a range of strategies using praise, sanctions and rewards fairly and consistently

·       Direct and supervise support staff assigned to them and where appropriate, other teachers 

·       Have a clear understanding of the needs of all pupils including those with special educational needs, those of high ability, those with English as an additional language, those with disabilities and be able to use and evaluate distinctive teaching approaches to engage and support them

·       Contribute to the design and provision of an engaging curriculum within the relevant subject area(s)
