Midday Supervisory AssistantSt Benedict’s Catholic Primary School 

Salary:  £3,031 per annum (FTE £24,413) 
Hours: 5 hours per week - term time only

We’re looking for a caring, reliable and positive Midday Supervisory Assistant to join our team as soon as possible. This role is about much more than supervision it is about creating a calm, inclusive and nurturing lunchtime where children feel safe, included and supported. 

What the role involves: 

Working as part of our amazing team, you will: 

  • Assist with the hot lunch service in the hall 
  • Ensure hygiene routines are followed, including supervising handwashing 
  • Promote safe, calm and positive lunchtimes 
  • Help children with their lunches where needed 
  • Encourage children to eat well and develop independence 
  • Clear tables, manage spillages and tidy the hall after service 

 On the playground, you will: 

  • Encourage active and imaginative play 
  • Support children to include one another 
  • Help resolve minor disagreements calmly and fairly 
  • Promote respectful behaviour choices in line with our school values 
  • Ensure children are supervised safely at all times 

 You will also: 

  • Provide minor first aid when required and record incidents appropriately 
  • Report more serious concerns to senior leaders 
  • Follow safeguarding and health and safety procedures consistently

  • Can model forgiveness, respect and kindness in everyday interactions 
  • Works well as part of a team 
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding

  • Recognises that small, daily moments can have a lasting impact on a child’s confidence and wellbeing
