About this Role

As Headteacher, you will provide the vision and leadership needed to guide Oldfield through its next phase of development, bringing together culture, curriculum and community. You will ensure Oldfield is a safe, inclusive and aspirational place to learn, where high expectations are the norm and every pupil is supported to achieve their full potential.

You will lead a school where:

·       Staff feel supported, developed and proud of the difference they make every day

·       Teaching is consistently strong, supported by collaboration, professional trust and evidence-informed practice

·       The curriculum is broad, balanced and ambitious, building strong foundations in knowledge, skills and cultural capital

·       Inclusion is not an add-on, but a defining feature of school life

·       Behaviour, relationships and routines create calm, purposeful learning environments

·       Families and the wider community feel welcomed, listened to and proud to be part of the school

·       Children are known as individuals, encouraged to aim high and given the confidence to succeed academically, socially and personally

Our School Values

At Oldfield Primary School, our C.A.R.E values sit at the heart of school life:

  • Co-operation
  • Achievement
  • Respect
  • Enjoyment

These values shape the relationships, expectations and experiences we want for every child and every member of our community. We are looking for a Headteacher who will champion these values daily, helping to build a school culture where children feel supported, inspired and proud to belong.

Culture at the Heart

We are looking for a leader who understands that strong school culture is built intentionally and sustained through consistency, care and high expectations. You will champion an environment where children feel safe and valued, staff feel supported and trusted, and families feel genuinely connected to school life.

You will lead by example, creating a culture rooted in kindness, ambition, accountability and mutual respect, where everyone is encouraged to grow, contribute and succeed.

Curriculum Leadership

You will play a key role in shaping and refining a curriculum that is ambitious, inclusive and meaningful for all children. You will ensure learning is carefully sequenced, knowledge builds over time, and pupils develop the skills, confidence and cultural understanding they need for the next stage of their education and beyond.

You will support a culture of continual improvement, where curriculum thinking is strengthened through collaboration, reflection and evidence-informed practice across the Trust.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a leader who brings:

  • Proven leadership experience with a clear track record of improving outcomes for children
  • A strong understanding of high-quality teaching, learning and curriculum development
  • The ability to lead with clarity, consistency, warmth and integrity
  • A deep commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
  • The confidence to use evidence, self-evaluation and data thoughtfully to drive improvement
  • The ability to build strong relationships with staff, families, governors and external partners
  • Resilience, emotional intelligence and a strong moral purpose
  • A commitment to collaboration and professional growth within a Trust family of schools

Experience within a multi-academy trust, wider system leadership and/or NPQH qualification would be advantageous.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary aligned with STPCD and The People’s Learning Trust framework
  • A full-time, permanent leadership opportunity
  • The support of a collaborative and ambitious Trust
  • Opportunities to work alongside experienced and supportive leaders across our schools
  • The opportunity to shape the future direction of a school at an important stage in its journey
  • A welcoming community that values inclusion, aspiration and continuous improvement

Join Us

This is more than a leadership role. It is an opportunity to make a lasting difference to children’s lives by shaping a school community where every child is encouraged to thrive academically, socially and personally.

If you are a leader with the vision, compassion and determination to inspire a whole school community, we would be delighted to hear from you.
