The successful candidate will be responsible
for Student Engagement across the school and will lead a strong Pastoral team.
We expect that you will already have some
experience of leading behaviour systems and attendance at a middle or senior
level and will be looking to take on a more challenging role to really make a
difference to the life chances of young people.
This position will suit a current or
aspiring senior leader who has experience as an Assistant Headteacher, Head of
Year or Head of House and is able to demonstrate and evidence the skills and
attributes needed for this role. We
expect the successful candidate to support the Catholic Ethos of the school but
do not require them to be a practising Catholic for this particular role. All faiths and none are welcome to apply.

St John Fisher is an 11-18 comprehensive
school with a rich Catholic ethos. There are 800 students on roll including the
Sixth Form. The school has excellent facilities and well-equipped rooms. The
school was judged Good by Ofsted in October 2013, November 2017 and June
2023. It was also judged Outstanding by
the Diocese in December 2013, 2018 and again in March 2022. Visits
to the school are welcome. We are a consistently good school on a journey to outstanding and so this is an exciting time to join us as we build on recent success and continue our drive to raise standards.
This school is a safe school and we ensure our culture is one that keeps children and young people safe from harm. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We take safe recruitment very seriously and the successful applicant will require an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service (formerly Criminal Records Bureau). Shortlisted candidates should be aware that online checks may be carried out as part of our due diligence.
