South Wirral High School is a co-educational 11-18 school located in Eastham, Merseyside. We are a dynamic and growing school, rated “Good” by Ofsted in October 2022. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality French lessons with clear objectives and engaging teaching methods.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
  • Use assessment for learning to monitor and support student progress effectively.
  • Inspire trust and confidence in students and colleagues, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the school’s policies, aspirations, and School Improvement Plan.
  • Prepare students for public examinations and ensure attainment meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Participate in the school’s appraisal system and engage in professional development opportunities.
  • Support the personal and social development of students, promoting healthy living, personal safety, and active citizenship.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Graduate with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE.
  • Experience of successful teaching, evidenced by adding value to student achievement.
  • Thorough knowledge of the French curriculum, including examination syllabus requirements at KS4 and KS5.
  • Strong classroom practice, behaviour management strategies, and the ability to motivate students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding the welfare of young people (enhanced DBS disclosure required).

Desirable:

  • Experience of teaching French at A Level.
  • Evidence of appropriate professional development.
  • Understanding of how ICT can enhance learning.
