About this Role

A vacancy for an experienced, inspirational, and ambitious Phase Leader has arisen at Story Wood School, part of the Robin Hood Multi Academy Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding practitioner to lead within a phase.

Story Wood School is a vibrant and welcoming community, set within beautiful grounds. Our dedicated staff, supportive families and enthusiastic pupils create a joyful atmosphere where learning is valued and children thrive.

Story Wood School is proud to be part of the Robin Hood Multi Academy Trust, a forward-thinking family of schools committed to collaboration, innovation and excellence in education. As part of the Trust, our staff benefit from shared professional development, strong networks and opportunities to grow as reflective and ambitious practitioners.

As phase leader, you will be responsible for providing leadership and management of the school’s relevant key stage curriculum, delivering high-quality teaching and effective use of resources. You will work to improve, and be accountable for, learning standards and achievement for all pupils within a designated phase, while also carrying out the duties as a classroom teacher. As the phase leader, you will effectively lead teaching and learning and contribute to whole-school self-evaluation and school improvement planning, and be responsible for line managing, mentoring, and developing staff within the phase. You will offer guidance and support to teaching staff, modelling best practices and showing up-to-date knowledge of current evidence-informed theory and practice.

As Phase Leader, you will be expected to fulfil the responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the STPCD, including planning and teaching lessons, assessing pupils’ progress, and managing behaviour effectively.

Whether you are an aspiring leader looking for your next challenge, or an experienced practitioner ready to bring your skills to a new setting, we encourage you to apply. We are seeking someone with passion, vision and the ability to make a real difference for our children.

We warmly welcome visits to our school. We are proud of our engaging learning environments and our wonderful children, and would love to show you what makes our school such a special place to work.

To book your visit or for an informal discussion, please contact the school office to arrange an appointment 0121 464 3863 or by email: enquiry@storywoodschool.co.uk
