King's Academy Brune Park is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant – Physical Disability & Intimate Care Support to provide dedicated one-to-one support for a student with significant physical disabilities within our inclusive mainstream secondary school.

This is a highly rewarding role where you'll make a genuine difference every day, enabling a young person to access learning, develop independence and participate fully in school life with dignity, confidence and respect.

About the Role

Working closely with the SENDCo, Inclusion Team, teachers, parents and healthcare professionals, you will:

  • Provide discreet one-to-one support throughout the school day.
  • Support the student to move safely around the school and access lessons, practical subjects and extracurricular activities.
  • Assist with personal and intimate care in line with agreed care plans, policies and specialist training.
  • Support moving and handling procedures, including hoisting and the use of specialist equipment following full training.
  • Assist with physiotherapy and postural management programmes as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and self-advocacy while providing the right level of support.
  • Monitor the student's wellbeing and communicate effectively with colleagues and parents where appropriate.

Full Training Provided

Previous experience in moving and handling or intimate care is welcomed but not essential. We will provide comprehensive training, including:

  • Moving and handling
  • Hoisting and specialist equipment
  • Personal and intimate care
  • Safeguarding
  • Pupil-specific care procedures
