About Us

Whipman Woods Flying High Academy is a newly established, vibrant, and inclusive primary school where children are at the centre of every decision we make. We are immensely proud of, our warm, welcoming ethos and our strong sense of community, where every child and adult is valued, supported, and encouraged to achieve their very best. As a school rooted in the heart of our community, we place great importance on building trusting, respectful relationships with families, colleagues, and wider partners.

Our dedicated staff team works tenaciously, and together, to create an environment where curiosity is celebrated, individuality is nurtured, and learning is purposeful and engaging. Our rich, thoughtfully designed curriculum places our children’s needs, interests, and voices at its core. Wellbeing - for both children and staff - is central to our culture, and we are committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and aspirational environment in which everyone can thrive. At Whipman Woods, our school values guide our everyday interactions, learning, and decision-making, ensuring that we nurture responsible, confident, and compassionate young people who understand their ability and responsibility to make a positive contribution.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Maternity Cover Class Teacher who brings strong, reflective classroom practice and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning for our Year 2 children. Working closely with the Deputy Headteacher, colleagues, support staff, and families, you will ensure that every child experiences a strong sense of belonging and is supported to thrive. As part of Whipman Woods Flying High Academy, you will be expected to model and embed our school values in your daily practice, helping shape a learning environment where respect, resilience, and kindness underpin everything we do.

  • Demonstrates our school values, is reflective, resilient, and willing to go the extra mile with enthusiasm

In Return, We Can Offer You:

  • A commitment to people across our Partnership, shaped by our people principles: adaptability, wellness, recognising achievement, employee voice and engagement, professional development and growth, inclusivity, and collaboration

  • Access to extensive, high-quality CPL opportunities at every stage of your career, including leadership development
