About this Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team at Limebrook Primary School & Nursery. 

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Head Teacher, SENDCo and the class teacher. 

We are looking for someone with previous experience in a similar setting (KS1) who is capable of giving their knowledge and experience to the children in our school.

The ideal candidate will be expected to:

  • Have experience in a similar educational setting

  • Have consistently high expectations

  • Support children by following programmes devised by the school and modify planning to suit the needs of the child/children

  • Liaise with class teacher, SENCo and other professionals, maintaining accurate and detailed records of the child's progress towards targets

  • Use their own initiative and work independently to support the child in making the best possible progress

  • Be positive, encouraging and supportive in all interactions with children, colleagues and families. 

  • Remain calm and flexible, be caring and patient responding appropriately to the varying needs of pupils. 

  • Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. 

  • Maintain confidentiality and act professionally at all times. 

  • Be organised, reliable and able to manage time effectively. 

  • Be reflective and committed to improving their own practice. 

  • Have a proactive approach to CPD and further professional development

  • Have a good standard of English and Mathematics (minimum GCSE Grade C or equivalent)

  • Have a secure understanding of safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare and safety of all children. 

  • Be committed to promoting inclusion, equality and positive behaviour. 

  • Be willing to undertake first aid, manual handling or other relevant training, where required. 

  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the SENCO or Head of School, appropriate to the responsibilities of the post.
