We are seeking to appoint an experienced, ambitious and inspirational Assistant Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team at Limebrook Primary School & Nursery.

This is a key leadership role within the school, supporting the Headteacher in driving school improvement, raising standards, and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across the school.

The successful candidate will lead on a specific area of school development (e.g. curriculum, teaching & learning, assessment, inclusion, or behaviour) and contribute to the strategic direction of the school.

Assistant Headteachers play a central role in leadership, helping to implement the school’s vision and improve outcomes for all pupils

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Headteacher in the leadership and management of the school

  • Lead and drive improvement in a key area of responsibility (e.g. curriculum, assessment, inclusion)

  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning across the school

  • Use data to improve pupil outcomes and inform strategic decisions

  • Line manage and support teaching and support staff

  • Lead professional development, coaching and mentoring of staff

  • Contribute to the School Improvement Plan and self-evaluation processes

  • Ensure high expectations of behaviour, achievement and inclusion

  • Work collaboratively with governors, parents and external agencies

  • Undertake teaching responsibilities as required


We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Has significant teaching experience and leadership experience (e.g. middle leadership)

  • Has a proven track record of improving pupil outcomes

  • Demonstrates strong leadership, organisational and communication skills

  • Has excellent knowledge of the curriculum and assessment

  • Is able to inspire, motivate and support staff

  • Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and high standards

  • Is ambitious and ready for senior leadership

  • Has experience of working with children with individual learning plans (ILPs) and adapting teaching to meet a range of learning needs.

  • Has Experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including working alongside the SENDCo and external agencies 

  • Has some experience as a member of a school safeguarding team.
