Governors

 

We are seeking to appoint  enthusiastic and highly motivated governors to support Conisborough College on its journey to being outstanding. We are a very friendly and welcoming community and we love nothing better than to show prospective visitors around our lovely College!

Our governors come from a range of different backgrounds, skills and experience but all share a common interest of wanting the best possible education for the children in our College. Governors are essential for the effectiveness and success of the College and it is an extremely rewarding and fulfilling role. All College Governors serve a 4 year term. 

You won’t just be a volunteer but you will act as a critical friend to support the leadership of the College as they strive to make the College the College of choice for parents in the local community.  

We would be delighted to hear from anyone who:-

  • Is interested in children’s education and the performance of the College
  • Is community spirited and would like to represent the community
  • Has spare time and the energy for the role
  • Is able to work well as part of a team
  • Has an enquiring mind and the confidence to ask questions and debate issues that affect the College
  • Can consider matters objectively and make informed judgements These volunteer positions are open to parents/guardians or other people from our community.
  • Would be keen to help to set and review the Colleges strategic direction and agree targets for improvement
  • Would be able to act as a critical friend to the headteacher and College leaders and to hold them to account for the educational performance of the College and its pupils
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the College and making sure public money is well spent
