Job description and person specification summary

At St Alban’s Catholic Primary School, we are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our skilled and hardworking team. The successful candidate will:

  • be passionate about working with children;
  • have a flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude;
  • inspire, motivate and challenge our pupils;
  • be able to form excellent relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues;
  • be supportive of the school’s Catholic ethos.

The successful candidate will have the following key skills, experience, and qualifications:

  • education to GCSE or equivalent level, including Grade 4 or above (previously Grade C) in English and maths;
  • HLTA qualification, or willingness to work towards this;
  • experience of planning and leading teaching and learning activities;
  • knowledge of how to support learners in accessing the curriculum in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice.
