We are seeking to appoint a dedicated,
enthusiastic, and flexible teaching assistant to support SEND pupils with difficulties
in all four broad areas of the SEND Code of Practice; Cognition & Learning
Difficulties, Communication & Interaction Difficulties, Social Emotional
and Mental Health Difficulties and Sensory/Physical Difficulties.
The role
will involve working with the pupils to meet their targets within the classroom
environment, in small groups and individually, delivering a range of approaches
and interventions to support the specific needs of the pupils. The role may also involve working within
different classrooms to meet the needs of the school.
We are looking for a TA who:

Has extensive experience of working with
pupils with SEND
- ·
Has knowledge and experience of supporting
pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and speech & language difficulties. It
is essential for the candidate to use very clear spoken English
- ·
Has knowledge of using speech & language
programmes and assessment tools for example; WellComm and First Call would be
desirable
- ·
Has the experience to organise and deliver personalised
intervention sessions
- ·
Ideally has experience in creating
communication resources for example; social stories, visual classroom aids,
Widget symbols
- ·
Has experience in de-escalation strategies and
behaviour management
- ·
Can confidently support children with
challenging behaviours
- ·
Has excellent literacy, numeracy, and
communication skills at GCSE Grade 4 level or equivalent.
- ·
Has competent IT skills
- ·
Understands how children learn to support
progress
- ·
Works effectively as part of a team, including
communicating with outside agencies
- ·
Has knowledge of working in EYFS, KS1 and KS2,
or be willing to undertake relevant training
