Key Responsibilities

Support teaching and learning in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher

Work with individuals and small groups to help pupils make progress across the curriculum

Provide pastoral support, promoting pupils’ wellbeing and emotional development

Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN and SEMH, following individual support plans
-
Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and interaction with others
-
Observe, record, and feedback on pupil progress, attainment, and barriers to learning
-
Support the teacher in managing behaviour and maintaining a safe learning environment

Provide 1:1 support or mentoring for pupils where required

Assist with classroom resources, organisation, and administrative tasks

Support school trips, visits, and extracurricular activities as required
What We Are Looking For

Experience working with children in a school, early years or similar setting

Good understanding of supporting learning and behaviour in a classroom environment

Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

Strong communication and teamwork skills
