Administration Officer
Catchgate Primary School
37 Hours per week
Term time + 3 weeks
From January /
February 2025, an exciting opportunity has become available for an
Administration Officer to join the school office team. The successful candidate
will oversee the day to day running of the school office under the supervision
of the School Business Manager; as directed by the Head Teacher.
As part of New
College Durham Academies Trust (NCDAT), Catchgate Primary School is an average
sized primary with 225 children on roll aged 2-11. The small but very busy
admin team support the organisation and delivery of the curriculum across the
whole school.
Successful
candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both
verbally and written, using a range of media. Attention to detail is paramount
within the role therefore applicants are encouraged to specifically emphasise
these skills on their application.
The school
ethos is adopted by all staff and all employees work together to achieve the
aims of the school and the Trust.
The main duties
of the post are:
- Manage the day to day operation of the school office
as directed by the SBM
- Provide clerical and administrative support to all
staff and pupils as required
- Diary management
- Ordering and invoicing
- Manage, maintain and process data and information in
accordance with schools systems and processes complying with school, local
and national government policy
- Create and maintain a friendly, warm, welcoming
reception for all school stakeholders entering the school building
- Carry out a range of admin and clerical tasks, updating
records and providing support toward the delivery of teaching and learning
across all phases of the school
- Assist the SBM with the managing of school finances by
processing orders and invoices, managing lettings and payments,
- Provide pastoral support to children throughout the
day
- Organise events, fairs, bookfairs, parent workshops,
trips and visits
The Admin
Officer is responsible for:
- Administering first aid and medication
- Managing the schools meals function
- Assisting with the operation of School Finances
- Working to strict deadlines, being able to prioritise
own workload; including often changing/postponing tasks to meet the needs
of the school
The post is 37
hours generally worked either 08.00am to 4.00pm or 8.30am – 4.30pm. There are specific times within the school
year where work may be required out of these hours.
