About this Role

We wish to appoint an EYFS and KS1 Phase Leader to join our Primary Phase team from September 2026. The postholder will be responsible for making significant contributions to the strategic development and direction of the Phase, whilst also leading a subject area. They will be responsible for ensuring that all pupils are being effectively assessed and supported in line with their bespoke needs. The postholder will be a committed and active member requiring high visibility around the staff team and school community.

Prendergast Vale School is an all-through school for 3 to 16 year olds in the heart of Lewisham and benefits from being part of the Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools. Our primary phase is one form entry and our ambition is to provide the best possible primary education in a stimulating and creative environment. We encourage children to develop a passion for learning, inspired by high-quality teaching and close nurturing.

Our school motto is “We are forever learning” and you will be expected to commit to your own professional development. We are committed to providing excellent CPD for Middle Leaders.   We offer a comprehensive and supportive induction programme for all new members of staff.  You will also have access to a rich and varied CPD programme within the school and across the Federation.

You will have the opportunity to work with a forward thinking staff and school leadership team who ensure that the academic and social development of every student is at the heart of what they do.

We are dedicated to creating a work environment that our colleagues can enjoy, our students can benefit from, and where work complements life. For this reason, we encourage everyone to discuss with us their flexible working requirements during the recruitment process so that we can find the best working solution for them and their role.

Please note CVs are not accepted.

The Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
