About this Role

We wish to appoint a Pastoral Manager to join our school to work with Key Stage 3 or 4. Working alongside the Deputy Headteacher – Behaviour & Welfare, you will demonstrate commitment and a proactive solutions focussed approach in support of outstanding student behaviour and well-being.

You will have experience of working with young people and demonstrate a commitment to student progress and achievement. You will have the skills required to liaise effectively with parents/carers, students, teachers and other stakeholders. As a Pastoral Manager you will frequently be the person filtering information and tackling situations as they arise and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently are essential. You will be a self-motivated team player, able to use your own initiative and have a commitment to the school’s ethos, aims and its whole community.

Prendergast School is a beacon of educational excellence. We've led girls' education in Lewisham for over 130 years, and our mixed 6th Form continues to grow in popularity. We are proud to have achieved our fourth consecutive Outstanding OFSTED rating in March 2025. This exceptional track record is a testament to our commitment to both our students and staff.

As part of the Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools, you’ll benefit from a powerful network of support and resources. We are not just outstanding in academics—we also hold the NACE Award, the Wellbeing Award, and the Gold Artsmark Award, reflecting our holistic commitment to staff and student development.

We invest in our people. That’s why we are committed to providing meaningful and ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD), from a comprehensive and supportive induction to a rich and varied CPD program across the school and Federation. You will also take part in the school's appraisal policy, appraising staff as required and using the process to develop their professional effectiveness.

We also recognise the importance of work-life balance. We are genuinely committed to finding flexible working arrangements that suit you and the role. We encourage all candidates to discuss their needs with us during the recruitment process.

Ready to make a difference and build your career with us?
