We are looking
to appoint an experienced Assistant Building Services Supervisor / Caretaker
who will have an important role in assisting the Building Services Manager (BSM)
to provide a clean, safe and secure environment for users of the school
buildings and grounds. It is an excellent opportunity for a
flexible, creative and committed individual to join our happy, vibrant and
skillful team.
We
would like our newly appointed Assistant Building Services
Supervisor to have responsibility for specific caretaking tasks but also
can be expected to assist the Building Services Manager in a full range of
caretaker duties and operational needs. To ensure security checks are
done all year around the role will entail some outdoor work.
We
are looking for someone who can:

Security of
the school’s buildings and grounds
·
Deputise for
BSM key holidays
·
Operation of
the school’s heating plant
·
General
porterage duties including movement of furniture and equipment within the
school within Health & Safety guidelines
·
Ensure all
outside steps, play grounds and approaches are kept in a clean condition and
all waste paper receptacles are emptied daily
·
Ensure toilets
are adequately stocked with toilet requisites
·
Regular checks
to ensure fire alarms and all firefighting equipment are in working order
·
Make main
pathways safe after snow/frost by cleaning/salting as appropriate
·
Handyperson
duties which may include minor repairs to furniture and fixtures and
non-specialist decorating tasks
·
Daily and
periodic cleaning of designated areas of the school buildings and grounds
according to schedule of work
·
Deputise for
the BSM when required
