About this Role

Are you an energetic, creative, and dependable member of our school team looking for a new challenge? We are seeking an internal candidate to join our breakfast club

In this role, you will be the "boots on the ground," driving the daily energy of our sessions and ensuring every child feels safe, included, and inspired to play.

The Role

Working under the guidance of the Before and After School Club Manager, you will be responsible for the "front-line" success of our club sessions. Your primary focus will be on child engagement and operational safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading Play: Taking the lead on daily activities, from high-energy sports and games to creative arts and crafts.

  • Safeguarding: Acting as a vigilant presence to ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils in line with school policies.

  • Health & Safety: Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including precise management of food hygiene and allergen awareness during breakfast times.

  • Positive Relationships: Building strong rapport with children and providing a professional, friendly point of contact for parents at drop-off and pick-up.

  • Teamwork: Supporting the Club Manager in the smooth running of the setting and assisting with daily setup/pack-away.

What We Are Looking For

We want someone who truly enjoys being in the thick of it with the children. You should be:

  • Engaging: Able to capture children's imaginations and encourage participation.

  • Responsible: A calm head in a busy environment with a sharp eye for safeguarding.

  • Knowledgeable: Aware of (or willing to be trained in) food safety standards—knowing your way around an allergen folder is a must!

Requirements & Training

  • Current employment within the school.

  • A commitment to maintaining high safeguarding standards.

  • Willingness to undertake a Food Hygiene and Allergen Awareness training.

    Safeguarding
Robin Hood MAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff, including those within our Central Team, to share this commitment and to maintain a vigilant and safe environment across all our academies.
This post is considered "regulated activity" (or involves regular access to our school sites) and is therefore subject to an Enhanced DBS check with a check of the Children’s Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity.
All shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children.
In line with the requirements of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), we will conduct an online search on all shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence process.  We will discuss any information flagged during this process with the candidate during the interview stage before making a final recruitment decision.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to all necessary pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS; Childcare Disqualification (where applicable); qualifications (where applicable); medical fitness; identity and right to work.
Our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and Recruitment of Ex Offenders Policy are attached.  You are encouraged to read these policies prior to applying to work for us.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
