About this Role

Are you a compassionate, adaptable teacher who believes every learner deserves to be heard, valued, and able to flourish?

We are seeking an exceptional professional to join our supportive and friendly team as a SEND Teacher. This is a wonderful opportunity to play a central role in a specialist independent school where relationships, wellbeing, and learner voice are at the heart of everything we do.

Our school provides a nurturing, inclusive environment for learners with additional needs. We are proud of our child-centred approach and our commitment to ensuring that every decision we make puts learners first.

The Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, personalised learning for pupils with additional needs

  • Champion inclusive classroom practice so that all learners can thrive

  • Create a safe, nurturing environment where wellbeing and learner voice are central

  • Work closely with colleagues, families, and external professionals to support individual learners

  • Contribute to a strong culture of safeguarding, vigilance, and care

  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a wide range of needs, abilities, and learning styles

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Kind, understanding, and highly empathetic

  • Adaptable and solution-focused in their approach to teaching

  • Committed to putting learners at the heart of every decision

  • An excellent communicator and team player

  • Experienced in working with children and young people with SEND

  • Passionate about creating environments where young people feel safe, heard, and empowered

What we offer

  • A welcoming, supportive, and friendly staff team

  • A strong culture of collaboration and care

  • A comprehensive wellbeing package for staff

  • High-quality professional development opportunities

  • The chance to make a genuine difference in a specialist setting where your work truly matters

If you are looking for a role where you can teach with compassion, make meaningful impact, and be part of a school community that values both staff and learners, we would love to hear from you.

Come and help us ensure every learner flourishes and every voice is heard.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.

Coombswood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every learner and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will require an enhanced DBS check, online checks, and references will be taken up before interview.
