About this Role
| Job Purpose |
To provide effective administrative and reception support to the school, acting as the first point of contact for parents, pupils, staff and visitors. The post holder will contribute to the smooth running of the school office, support attendance procedures, and undertake Midday Supervisor duties to promote the safety, welfare and positive behaviour of pupils during lunchtime. The successful candidate will be a welcoming and professional ambassador for the school, ensuring that all visitors and families receive a positive first impression. |
Main
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Act
as the first point of contact for parents, pupils, visitors and external
agencies.
·
Welcome
visitors to the school, ensuring safeguarding and visitor procedures are
followed at all times.
·
Answer
telephone calls, respond to enquiries and direct calls appropriately.
·
Receive
and relay messages accurately and promptly.
·
Provide
a friendly, professional and helpful service to all members of the school
community.
·
Assist
with pupil arrivals and departures where required.
·
Provide
general administrative support to ensure the efficient running of the school
office.
·
Produce
letters, reports, emails and school communications.
·
Undertake
filing, photocopying, scanning and data entry.
·
Maintain
accurate pupil records and update information on the school's management
information system.
·
Process
incoming and outgoing post.
·
Maintain
confidentiality at all times and comply with GDPR requirements.
·
Monitor
daily pupil attendance and punctuality.
·
Make
calls for attendance enquires as part of the first stage response in the
office.
·
Record
and maintain accurate attendance records using the school's management
information system.
·
Supervise
pupils during the lunchtime period in the dining hall, playground and other
designated areas.
·
Promote
positive behaviour, good manners and social interaction.
·
Encourage
safe and inclusive play.
·
Support
pupils with their lunchtime routines and wellbeing.
·
Monitor
pupil welfare and report any concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
·
Deal
appropriately with minor incidents and accidents, following school procedures.
·
Always
ensure the safety and security of pupils.
·
Follow
all safeguarding, behaviour, health and safety, and first aid procedures.
Other Areas of Responsibility
Safeguarding
·
Work in line with
statutory safeguarding guidance (e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education,
Prevent) and our safeguarding and child protection policies
·
Promote the
safeguarding of all pupils in the school
·
To undertake tasks of a
similar nature and level, as directed by the Headteacher.
