About this Role

We are seeking two dedicated HLTAs to join St John’s and support the continued development of our highly inclusive SEND provision. These roles will work closely alongside our SENCo and Specialist SEND Teacher to deliver targeted and specialist support for students accessing our POD provision.

We are looking for individuals who can bring a particular strength in either:

  • Academic Inclusion & Learning Support, or
  • Pastoral Inclusion & Wellbeing Support

There is also potential for candidates to work flexibly across both areas, depending on experience and expertise.

At St John’s, we foster a culture where all pupils can access the curriculum and participate fully in learning through a strong universal inclusive approach. Staff know their pupils well, foundational gaps are identified early, and responsive adaptations help ensure barriers to learning are reduced before they become long-term obstacles.

These HLTA roles are intended to build further capacity beyond this universal provision, enabling the school to deliver more specialised targeted support for some of our most vulnerable students. This includes delivering interventions, bespoke programmes, pastoral support, mentoring, and additional provision beyond the classroom to strengthen both academic progress and student wellbeing.

The successful candidates will play a key role in helping students develop confidence, independence, emotional regulation, engagement, and long-term success. Working collaboratively with the the wider SEND team, they will help ensure students receive the right support at the right time through a responsive and highly relational approach.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the team at an all-through school (2–16 years) within the Cambrian Learning Trust.

You are warmly welcomed to arrange a tour of our school by contacting the school office.

Term Time Only (38 weeks per year plus 5 days).

Shortlisted candidates will be subject to online searches for publicly available information.

The Cambrian Learning Trust is an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications from a range of backgrounds to represent diversity in line with our schools’ communities.

Safeguarding Statement

We expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. All post holders in regulated activity are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Check.

Shortlisted candidates will be subject to online searches for publicly available information.
