Project Search Coordinator A fantastic opportunity to support our young people with their work programme based at Scunthorpe General Hospital.
Pay grade: Unqualified Teacher Scale Point 2 £24224
Trent View College is really excited to be partnering with the NHS and DFN Project SEARCH to launch our first supported internship programme. The model provides a structured supported internship programme designed to equip young adults with disabilities with the skills, confidence, and experience needed for long-term employment.
Participants, aged 16-24 with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) or equivalent, remain enrolled at their school or college but are based full-time within a host business. Throughout the programme, they receive up to 800 hours of structured on-the-job learning, supported by teachers, job coaches, managers, and mentors. To help them develop a broad range of skills, they complete three 10-week rotations in different roles within the host business. By working with Scunthorpe Hospital young people access rotations across multiple sectors, DFN Project SEARCH provides young people with real-world experience and the opportunity to develop valuable skills.
Main Duties:
⮚ To coordinate the delivery of a transition to work programme for young adults with a learning disability based at Scunthorpe Hospital, representing and promoting the college within NLAG Hospital Trust.
⮚ To identify a student’s strengths, interests, and abilities related to skill acquisition, job development and employment.
⮚ To deliver an employability curriculum whilst embedding Maths and English and use job coaching techniques to support young people’s development towards employability.
⮚ Develop skills and develop internship sites within Scunthorpe Hospital for students resulting in competitive employment.
