In this varied role, you will provide vital technical and administrative support across our thriving Art and Design Technology departments. Our faculty is a place where creativity meets excellence, with our recent GCSE results sitting in the top 25% of the country. You will work alongside a friendly team of six teachers and two technicians who value collaboration, staff wellbeing and continuous professional development. Whether you have previous experience in a school setting or a strong background in the creative industries, you will benefit from our bespoke coaching culture and a warm, inclusive community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Practical Lesson Preparation: Preparing and organising specialist materials, workshop tools and digital fabrication equipment, including 3D printers and laser cutters, to support practical lessons.
  • Classroom and Workshop Support: Providing hands on support to teaching staff and students during workshop-based learning activities across a range of creative processes.
  • Equipment and Tool Maintenance: Maintaining workshop tools, machinery and specialist equipment to a safe operational standard while managing stock and inventory schedules.
  • Health, Safety and Compliance: Supporting the implementation of health and safety procedures across all areas, including maintaining COSHH documentation, CLEAPSS guidance and British Standard compliance.

The Ideal Candidate would be

  • Skilled and Experienced: A practical professional with experience in a workshop, fabrication or educational environment, possessing strong organisational skills and an understanding of tool maintenance and safe working practices.
  • Proactive and Relational: A resilient team player who can communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders, use their initiative to solve problems independently and demonstrate a strong commitment to student safeguarding.

If you are an organised problem solver who wants to work in an environment where the arts play a central role in the curriculum, we would love to hear from you.
