About this Role

The Operations Manager plays a central role in ensuring the smooth, effective and safe running of St Cecilia’s CE Primary School. This post is fully onsite, working  in the school offices to support the day‑to‑day functioning of our busy school environment. Working closely with the Headteacher, the Operations Manager leads and coordinates key operational functions including HR, premises management, health and safety, procurement, contracts, administration systems and support‑staff oversight.

This role provides leadership to our administrative, premises and lunchtime teams, ensuring high standards of service that enable teachers to focus on delivering excellent learning. Because the work is highly practical, people‑focused and operational, the successful candidate must be present on the school site throughout the working week. This is not a hybrid or remote post.

The role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to problem‑solve in a fast‑moving on‑site environment, and confidence in managing people, processes and compliance. With responsibilities spanning staff recruitment and development, site maintenance, contract management, health and safety coordination, and school systems, the Operations Manager is a trusted professional who supports both the strategic and daily operational needs of the school.

A flexible, calm and discreet approach is essential, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider school‑based team. Due to the hands‑on nature of the role, daily onsite presence is essential.

We welcome and encourage visits to the school, or discussions about the vacancy. To arrange, please email: Rachael Marrison, PA to CEO – enquiries@keysacademytrust.org

Applications will be considered upon receipt.

The Keys Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, pre‑employment checks and DBS checks.
