About this Role

Manor Wood Primary School are seeking to appoint a KS1/KS2 Class Teacher for September 2026 to join our strong school team to support teaching and learning in our school.

This is primarily a full-time role, but we will also consider applications from candidates seeking a part-time position.

We welcome applications from candidates with experience of EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 – the specific year group for this role will be decided depending on the candidates’ experience and expertise.

This vacancy will suit candidates who are enthusiastic, highly motivated, and dedicated to upholding our mission of ensuring every young person thrives through inclusion, tolerance, and mutual respect. We are a supportive and happy environment, committed to celebrating our diverse cultures. We value candidates who have the best outcomes for children at heart. Knowledge and/or experience of pupils with SEN is preferable but not required.

We are looking for candidates who have:

A passion for supporting children to learn.

A passion for creating an adventurous and engaging learning environment, including embracing our unique alfresco learning environment and outdoor activities.

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as a team with staff, parents and outside agencies.

Energy and enthusiasm for this exciting challenge.

High expectations of children and a commitment to our restorative approach to student development.

Knowledge and experience of the national curriculum.

A commitment to continuing professional development.

Manor Wood Primary School can offer:

A supportive staff team who work well to ensure the best outcomes for pupils, characterised by a nurturing pastoral focus.

An adventurous and happy environment where diverse cultures are celebrated.

The opportunity to deliver a curriculum that incorporates our Forest School approach and collaborative learning through creative play. As of Summer 2026, we will be a Forest School accredited setting.

     Parents who are supportive.

A commitment to your professional development with a range of opportunities to further your career, including a close working partnership with schools across the trust to further support professional development.

An employee perks scheme including discounts and online offers at major high street and online retailers, and salary sacrifice schemes.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection in April 2025 confirmed that Manor Wood continues to be a thriving, high-achieving environment where both staff and pupils excel. The report highlights our:

Valued Voice: Our leadership team is dedicated to a collaborative culture, and staff "appreciate the way that leaders take account of their views when implementing changes".

Culture of Kindness: We pride ourselves on being an "inclusive and welcoming school" that operates as a "fair and kind community".

Exceptional Early Years: For those joining our EYFS team, you will be part of an "exceptionally well-resourced and creative place where children thrive".

This post will suit candidates who are highly motivated and have the best outcomes for children at heart. The successful candidate will be joining a like-minded and friendly school team. As part of the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust, we have access to a network of Lead Practitioners who are equipped to support the successful candidate in developing their career.

We encourage candidates to visit the school before applying. Visits will be held on Wednesday 13th May at 3.45pm  and Thursday 14th May at 2.15pm.  If you would like to organise a visit, please contact the school office on 0113 2689160 or office@manorwood.owlcotesmat.org
