About this Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed and talented senior leader, who has the drive, determination and energy to build on the school’s successes, in collaboration with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.

Manor Wood Primary School is a two form entry primary school, with a Nursery and Children's Centre, situated in the Meanwood area of Leeds. Manor Wood Primary School believes in equipping children with the skills to be the best they possibly can be, through providing a supportive and caring learning environment within a friendly school community. Staff at Manor Wood Primary are passionate about making a difference every day and believe that children should be active, confident and resilient learners who are inspired by their environment and the curriculum.  As Assistant Headteacher, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of children and help to foster an environment that inspires children to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

We are looking for a leader who:

  • Will inspire and motivate staff and children.
  • Is able to sustain progress in raising standards of teaching and learning and improving outcomes for children.
  • Drives the development of a relevant curriculum that both engages and challenges children.
  • Strives for ambitious standards for all children within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Will continue to develop community engagement.
  • Is visible, approachable and has the resilience to meet the day to day challenges of school leadership.
  • Has personal and professional integrity.

We will offer the successful candidate:

  • The opportunity to develop professionally and personally.
  • A committed Senior Leadership Team who have high expectations of themselves, staff and children.
  • A dedicated team of teachers and support staff who all share a determination that every child achieves their full potential.
  • A diverse school community.
  • A Local Governing Board which provides key support and challenge.
  • Professional support from the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust via internal leadership coaching mentor programmes and well-established school to school collaboration.
  • An employee perks scheme including discounts and online offers at major high street and online retailers, and salary sacrifice schemes such as cycle to work.

Visits to Manor Wood Primary School and an opportunity to meet the Headteacher are encouraged and can be arranged on request. To arrange a visit to the school, or to request further information about this role, email: office@manorwood.owlcotesmat.org, or call 0113 268 9160.

Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All adults in school, whether paid staff or a volunteer, have a responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate must abide by Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust policies and procedures and Safeguarding and Child Protection policies. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS). We promote diversity and want a workforce which reflects the population of Leeds.
