Life Coach  – Brompton Hall School

Are you a hardworking, creative, and knowledgeable professional with a passion for supporting children with SEND?  Brompton Hall School is seeking a Life Coach to play a vital role in shaping the personal development and welfare of our pupils. As the life coach, you will ensure high-quality pastoral support for pupils with additional needs, working closely with staff, families, and external agencies. In addition, you will lead personal development across the whole school, driving initiatives that promote well-being, resilience, and positive relationships.  Working within the established pastoral team you will support interventions and pupils personal development for all pupils within the school. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, within a supportive and dynamic school community. This role is term time only, 37 hrs pw.  Actual Pro Rata Salary is £28,413 - £30867.37 ,  term time only, 39 paid weeks

Brompton Hall School is based within private grounds in the pretty village of Brompton-by-Sawdon and is a Special Education School for pupils aged between 8 and 16 years.

We are a specialist school for pupils aged 8 to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

 Our pupils join us from mainstream schools because they benefit from a setting that can provide additional behavioural support and a more personalised approach to helping them succeed.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Promote & safeguard the welfare of all pupils, including Looked After Children
  • Use Specialist skills and training, particularly ELSA to support pupils
  • Arrange & develop 1:1 mentoring arrangements & provide support to disengaged/ vulnerable pupils
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of pupils to determine those in need of particular help
  • Challenge & motivate pupils, promote & reinforce self-esteem
  • Assist in development & implementation of appropriate emotional support strategies 
  • Take the lead in implementing & delivering on Mental Health projects for both students & staff
  • Administrative support, updating records, liaise with parents and carers as required

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people
  • Is patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people
  • Is ELSA trained
  • Has NVQ level 3 teaching assistant or equivalent
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Works well in a team but can also use their initiative
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
