About this Role

This is a wonderful opportunity to become part of a supportive team where your contribution will be valued, your development encouraged, and your work will have genuine impact.

About Bhylls Acre Primary School

Bhylls Acre Primary School is a one-form entry primary school in Wolverhampton, serving a close-knit community with a strong sense of pride and belonging. We provide a nurturing environment where children are known well, supported carefully and encouraged to grow in confidence and independence.

Our lovely outdoor space offers rich opportunities for learning, play and exploration, while our supportive parents and polite, eager-to-learn children help create a positive and welcoming school culture.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated HLTA who enjoys bringing learning to life and supporting pupils across the curriculum. Working closely with teachers and colleagues, you will help ensure every child feels confident, included and ready to achieve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging PPA cover that maintains continuity and supports high expectations for learning.
  • Provide cover for planned Leadership time as well as adhoc unplanned cover.
  • Provide targeted interventions to help pupils make strong progress.
  • Lead lessons confidently, adapting your approach to meet the needs of different classes and learners.
  • Support children with SEND through inclusive practice that helps them access learning successfully.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to contribute to a positive and well-organised classroom environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings energy, care and professionalism to every aspect of their work. You will build positive relationships naturally, communicate clearly and work flexibly to meet the needs of pupils and staff.

We’re Looking For:

  • A minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, with evidence that you meet the HLTA professional standards.
  • The ability to form strong, trusting relationships with pupils and parents.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence when working with children, families and colleagues.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities and classroom needs.
  • Experience of working across different key stages.

What We Offer

At Bhylls Acre Primary School, we know that great staff make a great school. We are proud to offer a supportive working environment where wellbeing is valued and professional growth is encouraged.

Benefits of Joining Our Team:

  • A supportive team that works collaboratively and values every member of staff.
  • Membership of a supportive trust, with access to CPD, networking and development opportunities.
  • Ongoing CPD to strengthen your practice and develop your career.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme for practical and emotional support.
  • A wellbeing day during term time, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
  • Happy, eager-to-learn children who make every day rewarding.

Visits to our school are warmly welcomed.  To arrange a visit, please make an appointment with our school office.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) clearance is required for this role.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is eligible for an enhanced DBS check including a Children's Barring List Check. If you are barred from working with children you are breaking the law if you apply for this post.

An online search will be undertaken on all shortlisted candidates.  This search does not form part of the shortlisting process and you will have the opportunity to discuss any issues of concern that may arise from this search at the interview.
