About this Role

This is a wonderful opportunity to become part of a school community where pupils are known, valued and nurtured, and where staff work closely together to create the very best outcomes for every child.

About Bhylls Acre Primary

Bhylls Acre Primary School is a one-form entry primary school in Wolverhampton, serving a close-knit community with a strong sense of pride and belonging. We provide a nurturing environment where children are known well, supported carefully and encouraged to grow in confidence and independence.

Our lovely outdoor space offers rich opportunities for learning, play and exploration, while our supportive parents and polite, eager-to-learn children help create a positive and welcoming school culture.

The Role

This is an important role for someone who enjoys supporting children to succeed, both academically and personally. Working closely with the class teacher and wider staff team, you will help to deliver engaging learning, provide tailored support where needed, and contribute to a calm, purposeful and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the class teacher to plan and deliver learning activities for individuals, small groups or the whole class, helping to promote effective teaching and learning.

  • Provide valuable support during lessons by helping children stay engaged, focused and ready to learn.

  • Step in to supervise the whole class and deliver pre-prepared activities during short-term teacher absence, ensuring continuity and calm throughout the school day.

  • Support the teacher with the day-to-day organisation and management of pupils and the classroom, contributing to a positive and orderly learning environment.

  • Promote inclusion for all pupils, helping to ensure that every child has equal opportunities to learn, progress and achieve.

  • Play an active role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children across the school, always acting with care, professionalism and integrity.

About You

We are looking for someone who will bring warmth, flexibility and a genuine commitment to helping children flourish. You will be confident working as part of a team, communicate clearly and professionally, and show patience, understanding and a positive approach in all that you do.

We’re Looking For:

  • A highly motivated, adaptable and flexible practitioner who enjoys working in a busy primary school environment.

  • Clear and kind communication with children, along with professional communication with teachers, parents and carers.

  • An understanding that children have different needs and learn in different ways, with a willingness to support each child effectively.

  • Experience of working collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO and other colleagues to support learning and wellbeing.

  • Experience of assisting teachers with lesson delivery, supporting individuals and small groups, and helping pupils remain engaged and on task.

  • A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine desire to contribute to the life of the school.

What We Offer

At Bhylls Acre Primary, we know that staff wellbeing and professional growth matter. We are proud to offer a supportive working environment where colleagues are valued, encouraged and given opportunities to develop. You will join a team with a shared sense of mission, where relationships are strong and everyone plays an important part in school life.

Benefits of Joining Our Team:

  • A warm and welcoming school community where you will feel supported from day one.

  • A strong sense of teamwork and shared purpose, with colleagues who work closely together to achieve the best for every child.

  • A commitment to ongoing professional development, including investment in CPD and training opportunities.

  • Access to an employee assistance programme to support your wellbeing.

  • A wellbeing day off during term time, helping you to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

  • The benefits of being part of a Trust, opening up opportunities for networking and wider CPD.
