Aldercar High School is seeking an
enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Humanities to join our dynamic

About the
Role
You will deliver a broad, engaging and
well-structured Humanities curriculum across KS3 and KS4, inspiring students
and supporting them to achieve their full potential.
You will:
- Plan and teach high-quality, inclusive Humanities lessons
- Use assessment effectively to drive progress and raise achievement
- Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities
department
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement and aspiration
- Support whole-school priorities, including improving attendance,
culture and outcomes over time
- Take part in key events such as Parents' Evenings and Open Evenings
- Build positive relationships with families, partner schools and
external organisations
This role is not about quick fixes, but about
making a sustained and meaningful difference to students' life chances through
excellent classroom practice.
Pastoral
Responsibilities
As a Form Tutor, you will play a vital role in
supporting students' personal development and wellbeing. You will:
- Monitor progress, attendance and behaviour
- Deliver elements of the PSHE programme
- Work closely with the Student Support team
- Build strong relationships with students and their families

Looking For
We are seeking a teacher who:
- Places young people and their life chances at the centre of their
work
- Brings energy, creativity and high expectations to the classroom
- Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and effective teaching
practice
- Has experience teaching Humanities across KS3 and KS4 (or is ready
to develop this as an ECT)
- Uses data effectively to support progress
- Builds positive, respectful relationships with students, staff and
families
- Is organised, adaptable and committed to ongoing professional
development
- Champions inclusion and has a commitment to supporting all
learners, including those with SEND and disadvantage
ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to
apply.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree in a Humanities-related subject
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
