We are looking for a Trust-appointed Governor to join our Local Governing Body. This is a rewarding, strategic role where you can make a real difference to the education and future of our pupils. We are looking for individuals with a range of skills and experience,. 

Role of the School Governor

You will have the opportunity to be part of a diverse Local Governing Body which helps contribute to the strategic direction of the school and is committed to school improvement in order to ensure the best outcomes for its pupils. 

The purpose of the LGB is to: 

• ensure clarity of vision and strategic direction for the school

• monitor and evaluate school performance

• support and also provide constructive challenge to the school's senior leadership

• monitor financial performance and ensure value for money

• ensure that the voices of stakeholders are heard.  

The Candidate

We are looking for a rounded individual who is able be an active participant in discussions, work collaboratively and be respectful of the views of others. The candidate should be keen to use their skills and experience, gained through their life and career, for the benefit of the school.

The candidate needs to be able to dedicate the time to attending LGB meetings, review papers prior to those meetings and also support the school through attendance at several events throughout the school year. 

No formal qualifications are needed, and a comprehensive training program is available for new governors.
