If you’re proactive, empathetic, and committed to promoting positive outcomes for young people and their families, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Children and Families Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and school attendance, while also working closely with families to strengthen engagement and provide guidance. You will collaborate with school staff, safeguarding leads, and external agencies to ensure every child feels safe, supported, and ready to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Children Support:

    • React to the needs of pupils daily, supporting learning and school attendance.
    • Lead and coordinate ELSA and Keyworker groups in collaboration with the SENDCo.
    • Support transitions into school and run social and intervention groups.
    • Provide assistance during unstructured times and maintain accurate records of pupil interactions.
  • Family Support:

    • Promote parental engagement and provide guidance on early concerns.
    • Complete referrals for support services and liaise with parents on attendance matters.
    • Communicate effectively with families via calls, emails, and meetings.
    • Attend parent evenings, multi-agency meetings, and support home visits when required.
  • Safeguarding:

    • Follow school safeguarding policies and report concerns promptly.
    • Support safeguarding leads in multi-agency meetings and monitor ongoing cases.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children and families in an educational or community setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and external agencies.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

HIGH VIEW

High View School is an outstanding primary school (Ofsted, November 2024), which is highly-regarded on a national scale and at the heart of our local community. We are a 1.5 form entry school, with around 350 pupils (which includes our dedicated nursery provision), and we benefit from working in a first-class learning environment, including a purpose-built school building and a range of exceptional outside play and learning environments.

At High View School, we work together to ensure that learning is ambitious and relevant, with an ethos rooted in mutual respect, kindness and tolerance. We want our staff and pupils to come to school with a positive attitude, where they are kind to one another, eager to learn and have pride and aspirations around what they can accomplish as individuals and as a community, both academically and socially, as we truly believe that good beginnings never end! With this in mind, our curriculum is outstanding, as is our ongoing continuous professional development for all staff.

Staff, pupils and parents are proud to be part of the High View School family and our continued commitment and collaboration for growth, alongside successful engagement with our wider community stakeholders, enable us to achieve standards of which we continue to be incredibly proud of.
