The role is to provide support for children who require additional help. Working in the classroom and around school to support children to make academic, social, emotional and behavioural progress.
The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting all children, whatever their need, be flexible and a team player.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Assist the class teachers and the team in engaging children with the curriculum
Provide support during lunchtimes, both in the lunch halls and outside in the play areas.
Support children who are experiencing difficulties with their emotions, behaviour, social interactions or other aspects of school or home life
Occasionally provide support with whole-class supervision during teachers’ planned lessons.
Establish supportive, caring, secure and trusting relationships with children
Carry out personal care routines as appropriate.
Assist in creating, developing and producing resources for in and out of the classroom
Under the guidance of class teacher/SENDCO, communicate and collaborate with parents of children
FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:
Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (TA) (Highly Desirable)
School based references from the last 2 years (Desirable)
A DBS on the update service or happy to complete a new one
THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
previous childcare experience.
a proven ability to work on their own initiative.
a high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
the ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
a can-do attitude.

Hours
The role is term-time only (38 weeks per year)
23 hours per week, spread over at least 4 days
Salary
PS4 – Fully time equivalent (FTE) Range £25,246 – £27,033
23 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, £13,520 - £14,739 per annum Pro Rata
