About this Role

Head of School required  – Greenhall, part of The Creative Learning Partnership Trust

 ‘Nurturing the Champion within’

Due to continued growth of Greenhall and inclusion across our Trust, we are very excited to be recruiting a Head of School. The successful individual will play a pivotal role in driving ongoing improvement, building capacity and enabling all our children, families and staff to thrive. This role has a teaching commitment.

Greenhall is a nurturing, early years special school for children aged 2-5years old with needs in the prime areas of learning. We also have a governor-run nursery – Little Learners - onsite that is open 51 weeks of the year. ‘Knowing the individual well’ and ‘effective relationships’ are central to our work.

We are looking for a dynamic leader who:

-       Is an experienced senior leader (e.g. Deputy Head, Assistant Head, or equivalent), or an existing Head of School

-       Has a strong track record of raising standards and improving outcomes

-       Thinks strategically while maintaining a clear focus on effective day-to-day leadership

-       Is passionate about high quality early years education and deeply committed to child-centered practice, with excellent interpersonal skills.

-       Builds positive, trusting relationships across the school community, working WITH them. You will invest time getting to know our children, families and staff and be willing to go the extra mile for them.

-       Communicates effectively with staff, pupils, and families

-       Loves coming into school each day to spend time with our precious little ones and lead a fantastic staff team

-       Leads by example and is willing to get stuck in…our children love to play and be creative and we expect you to join in! No job is too big or too small!

-       Is organised, professional, remains calm and has clarity of thought

-       Reads and researches the best practice in early years and SEND (evidence based, not the latest fads!) reflects on this and then, where appropriate, implements this in our setting, explaining the whys to ensure that stakeholders are taken WITH you

-       Cares about details – you will have that difficult conversation with sensitivity, your emails are free of typo’s and you know whose coat is whose and are willing to spend time looking for a missing welly boot!

-       Is loving, kind and gives the best hugs to children and staff!

-       Has the courage to do the right thing, even when this is difficult

-       Is committed to creating an inclusive society

-       Has a warm, infectious smile that lights up their face – this smile is there to greet our children, families and fellow staff to show them how loved, special and valued they are!

Working with our very precious children is a privilege. It is the best job in the world! You will be talked about, remembered and loved for many years to come by our children and families.

If you think you have the skills and character that we are looking for, please get in touch!

Training, support and coaching will be offered to the successful candidate to ensure they are successful in their duties. You will also be joining a thriving Trust that has children at its heart.  There will be professional development opportunities within the Trust and within Greenhall & Little Learners.

Greenhall is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB), references and medical clearance. It is an offence to apply for this role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
