St Margaret Mary Catholic Primary is a warm and welcoming school dedicated to fostering a love of learning from the earliest stages. We are located in Currock, Carlisle and currently prepare and cater for around 230 pupils from our outstanding in-house catering department.

Your Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Catering Assistant, to help prepare and serve healthy, freshly produced meals and snacks on a daily basis. Duties will include food preparation, food service, washing up and general cleaning. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and must have, organisational and inter-personal skills. You will have previous experience of working in a busy food environment or have previous contract catering experience. This is a hands-on role involving all aspects of the catering department and training will be provided to enable you to carry out your role. You will need to be adaptable, a team player and be able to work to deadlines under minimal supervision. Opportunities for acting up in this department on occasion following training will be available to the right candidate.

Working Hours:

Part-time, (Monday to Friday, from 11.30AM to 2:00 PM)  12.5 hrs per week

Term-time only + I Week Inset 

Key Requirements:

•       Previous experience working in a catering department

•       Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

•       Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.

•       Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
