The governors of Sacred Heart Catholic Primary & Nursery School in Barrow-in-Furness are looking to appoint: 2 x KS2 Midday Supervisors based at our St Bernard’s site to join our hardworking team supervising lunchtimes and ensuring the safety of our children both indoors and outdoors. 


Number on Role: 211 pupils

Age Range: 2-11

Contract: Fixed term, 6.25 hours per week, Monday-Friday, Term Time Only (38 working weeks)

Salary:  Grade 3 SCP 3, £24,796 per annum, pro-rata £3502

Required start: As soon as possible 

Fixed Term until 31/08/2026

Post Description


The successful candidates should enjoy working with children, promote healthy eating and encourage good behaviour at all times. Experience of working with children would be an advantage and a willingness to undertake appropriate training is essential. It is also essential that the successful candidates are able to communicate clearly to children and adults in a calm and respectful manner, be reliable and trustworthy and work within the school’s policies and procedures. We will provide you with suitable training and induction as well as copies of school policies, including safeguarding and child protection.

For this post, prior to appointment Mater Christi Trust will apply for a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring check, a Children’s Barred list check,  two satisfactory references, satisfactory pre-employment health screening, carry out online searches for shortlisted candidates, and for Teachers, a Prohibition Check in relation to the children’s workforce. In some settings a Declaration will be required in order to meet our obligations under the ‘Disqualification under the Childcare Act 2006’.
