About this Role

Our 'Bring It!' vision requires us to ensure our pupils are excited by and fully engaged in their learning and school experience more widely. We support them to use their talents to create positive school memories with their friends that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

Our aim is to inspire a lifetime of adventure.

As a Church of England Trust, we support its vision for education which is deeply Christian, with Jesus' promise of 'life in all its fullness' at its heart.

St Barnabas Trust is looking to recruit an outstanding  teacher to join our team. This an exciting opportunity to work within St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust at St Mellion School.

At St Mellion Church of England Primary School, we aim to provide our children with an environment in which they feel safe, can forge life-long friendships and are suitably supported to achieve their full potential holistically. We wholeheartedly believe that our school's vision and ethos helps to lay the foundations for all to develop physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally. As a result of our strong Christian distinctiveness we have seen some of our children want to become agents of change and support local and nationwide causes for the greater good of humanity.

As part of St Barnabas Multi-Academy Trust, we encourage our children to 'Bring It!'. When we discuss Bringing It within school we talk about what we can learn from The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30) and how we can bring our talents to school so that we can be the best versions of ourselves to enable us to flourish. This is supported by the Church of England's vision for education to live 'life in all its fullness' (John 10:10). Additionally, we have three core Christian values that are threaded through daily school life and help to remind us God loves us all. Our Christian values of courage, creativity and friendship help all of us (children and adults) to live out our vision through learning and relationships in school.

On a school level, we often refer to our community as a family. This feeds in directly to our school strapline of 'Learning and Caring Together'. We believe that this is underpinned by the Thessalonians 5:11 quote "encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing" This encompasses how our school family works together to ensure that all achieve their fullest potential.

We are looking for a teacher who will truly make a difference in children’s lives.

In return, we offer excellent ongoing professional development and the opportunity to work alongside staff from other schools within the Trust.  This is a part time permanent role, 2 days per week. Please note: This role is essential and as such we will be interviewing as suitable applicants apply. We reserve the right to close this role early should vacancies be filled before the closing date.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a flourishing village school at the heart of the community which is part of a family of schools in St Barnabas Trust.. We believe that every member of our school community has important talents to share, nurture and grow. As a proud member of the St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust, our vision is supported with a ‘Bring It!’ approach to all areas of our school life.

We are looking to appoint a teacher who can:

  • demonstrate high quality teaching .
  • be proactive in supporting our team approach with good interpersonal skills.
  • contribute to our Church of England ethos.
  • maintain a dynamic, inspirational yet challenging learning environment.
  • secure high quality relationships with parents, carers and the wider community.
  • demonstrate a desire to ensure that every single child can achieve the best of their ability, through effective differentiation and high-quality teaching.
  • Embrace and capitalise on the learning environment outside the four walls of the classroom.

In return, we can offer you:

  • a welcoming and friendly team environment within a MAT committed to staff development with well-motivated and enthusiastic children who are eager to learn new skills.
  • the opportunity to flourish within a supportive and forward thinking school family.
  • Generous local authority pension scheme
  • Employee Assistance programme
  • Flexible working considered
  • Ongoing Training and Development opportunities
