About this Role

Please note that we may choose to remove this advert prior to the closing date, dependent on the level of response received.  You are therefore advised to apply at your earliest convenience.

The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and mature Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join our team at Cornerstone School, where we cater for pupils aged 11–19 with a primary diagnosis of autism and associated Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a unique work-based learning opportunity designed to help you become a fully competent Level 3 Teaching Assistant through live, hands-on experience within a specialist setting. As an apprentice, you will work closely with our teaching staff to support a foundation of learning tailored to each individual student. You will act as a positive role model, influencing the behaviour and academic performance of our pupils through excellence in everything you do.
About Cornerstone School

At Cornerstone School, our vision is to ensure that every young person we work with is ‘Happy, confident and ready to contribute.’ Our school is built upon the values of Ambition, Curiosity, and Happiness, providing a safe and calm environment where pupils can feel secure and flourish. You will be working in a newly renovated, low-arousal sensory environment designed specifically to meet our pupils' needs, including specialist teaching areas and therapeutic quiet rooms. As part of the Trinitas Academy Trust, we offer a tailored, personalised curriculum that integrates therapy—such as Speech and Language or Art Therapy—into the school day.
If you are ready to develop your career in education and can demonstrate maturity and excellence in a specialist classroom setting, we would love to hear from you.
Please see the attached job description and person specification for further information about the role.

The appropriate standards are set out in the JD/Person Specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.

You must not use AI to exaggerate or invent skills or experience, or to produce generic responses for your application. All information submitted must be accurate and reflect your own experience and abilities.

References will be requested from referees for shortlisted candidates prior to the interview. Shortlisted applicants will also need to complete and return a Self-Disclosure form via MyNewTerm before interview.
