Vacancy: 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Langdale Primary is seeking to recruit
a passionate and empathetic teaching assistant to work one to one with a child
with additional needs. You will join a
supportive team and have the chance to grow professionally, in a rewarding
environment. The role will involve
working one to one with a child, this may be in class or in a small group. An EHCP is in place for the child and you
will be partly responsible for implementing this plan alongside the class
teacher. The successful candidate will
be able to implement positive behaviour management techniques, encouraging the
child to be confident, independent and successful.
Contracted hours: 30 hours a week, 8:30am-3pm
Contract type: Permanent, Term Time Only
Pay grade: Grade 3, SP 4
Annual Pay: £25,185 FTE
The duties for this role will include:
Support for the Teacher
Undertake marking of planned work.
In conjunction with teacher, record
pupils’ progress, provide feedback to appropriate education professionals, e.g.
LEA officers, Ofsted Inspectors.
To support the teacher to develop
appropriate learning plans to raise achievement.
Co-ordinate and organise pupils
attending extra-curricular activities/out of school activities under guidance
of teacher.
Provide general admin support, for
classroom activities and SEND records.
Support to School
Promote and safeguard the welfare of
children and young persons you are responsible for or
come into contact with.
Be aware of and comply with policies
and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security,
confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate
person.
Be aware of, support and ensure equal
opportunities for all.
Contribute to the overall
ethos/work/aims of the school.
Appreciate and support the role of
other professionals.
Attend and participate in relevant
meetings as required.
Participate in training and other
learning activities and performance development as required
Requirements for the role:
NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistant, or
recognized equivalent qualification, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge,
skills and experience.
Provide 1:1 support for a child with
additional needs.
Provide structured support, including
tutorial support, in accordance with specific work programmes designed and
supervised by individual teachers.
Use specialist knowledge/experience to
provide appropriate support to the pupil in relation to their individual needs,
e.g. behaviour management strategies.
Involvement in the development and
implementation of Individual Education, Behaviour, Support and Mentoring plans.
Be passionate about working with
children who have SEN and be able to assist in their social, health and hygiene
development.

Service (formerly CRB) which will require you to disclose details of all
unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and
